This natural edge Chestnut bowl is very close to heart shaped, because it is the fork between two branches. The chatoyance through the middle is outstanding. It is dyed in a sunburst fashion with red and yellow (blending to orange in between). Chestnut is fairly hard to find these days because disease has killed many of them, but this piece is an excellent specimen. It is finished with multiple coats of shellac and buffed to a mirror finish.
