This shallow platter was turned from a Camphor crotch, and then dyed black. The black dye was then sanded off leaving only a small amount in the chatoyance. It was then dyed both yellow and red in a sunburst fashion which has made a very beautiful conversation piece for any table or bookshelf. It is finished with several coats of shellac and buffed and polished to a high gloss finish.
