This is one of the most interesting examples of a red oak burl I have seen. It is from a piece of a huge burl on an old oak tree that was brought down in a storm. The tree was at least 200 years old. What makes this piece so unique is the amazing variety of figuring and spalting in addition to the burl characteristics. It takes a very long time for Mother Nature to create a piece of wood this interesting. Inside and out, this piece is stunning. Finished with multiple coats of finishing oil and wax.
